Waves for Water

As a professional surfer, Jon Rose has traveled the world looking for perfect waves. His adventures took him to some of the most remote places in the world, many of them without access to drinking water. After 13 years in professional surfing, he had the idea of creating portable filters capable of making any water drinkable. He was inspired by the experiences of his father, whom created a NGO in Africa focused on teaching less fortunate people to harvest and filter rainwater. After a lot of research, Jon found out that portable filters already existed and had affordable prices. In 2009, he went to Bali in his first mission to filter water, when the tsunami happened. Jon was one of the survivors and his filters saved thousands of lives in the devastated island; it was when Waves for Water was born, a NGO that provides clean water solutions to people in need and communities affected by natural disasters.
