David Lehrer

Kibbutz Ketura

With a degree in Management Science, David Lehrer is, since 2001, the director of Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, located in Israel. He also is a consultant for small businesses, for the Hevel Eilot Regional Council and for the United Kibbutz Movement, which gathers more than 200 autonomous communities that have as the basis of their organization agricultural or agroindustrial work. He himself is a member of the Kibbutz Ketura since 1981. His research includes studies on the effectiveness of the ISO 14001 environmental management system and on the sustainable development in the Dead Sea basin. Currently, David is a Master’s student at the Department of Geography of Ben-Gurion University, researching the costs for environmental protection in Israel.
