Benedito Braga

Benedito is one of the world’s leading water experts. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from USP-São Carlos, a master’s degree in Hydraulics and Hydrology from USP and a PhD in Water Resources from Stanford University. Benedito has worked in several areas of the public sector dealing with water issues. He has taken part in the World Water Forum; the Intergovernmental Council of Unesco’s International Hydrological Program; the International Water Resources Association (IWRA); and the Agência Nacional das Águas (ANA). In 2002, he received the Crystal Drop Award from IWRA for his contribution to water management all over the world. He is currently the CEO of Sabesp and honorary president of the World Water Council (WWC).
