Alexandre Henrique Bezerra Pires

ASA and Centro Sabiá

Alexandre was born in Sertão do Pajeú, in Pernambuco. He is the son of two farmers, and is involved in the agroecology movement that advocates for the project Convivência com o Semiárido. He graduated in Biology and has a master’s in Rural Extension and Local Development from UFRPE. He works as a popular educator and general coordinator at Centro Sabiá, executive coordinator at Articulação no Semiárido Brasileiro (ASA), and is a member of Núcleo Executivo da Articulação Nacional de Agroecologia (ANA). From 2012 to 2017, he was part of Comissão Nacional de Agroecologia e Produção Orgânica (CNAPO).
