Max Langer

Paleontologist, professor at the Department of Biology of USP – Ribeirão Preto

Paleontologist that graduated in Ecology from Universidade Estadual Paulista, has a master’s degree in Geosciences from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, a PhD from the University of Bristol and a professor title from the University of São Paulo. Currently, he is an associate professor in the department of biology of USP Ribeirão Preto; a member of the Subcommission on Triassic Stratigraphy, and of Academia Brasileira de Ciências; an associate editor of the Journal of Paleontology; and a member of the editorial board of Ameghiniana (a magazine of Asociación Paleontologica Argentina), and of the Committee on Phylogenetic Nomenclature of the International Society for Phylogenetic Nomenclature. He was once the head of Sociedade Brasileira de Paleontologia. Concerning Paleozoology and Stratigraphic Paleontology, he has published more than 90 papers in periodicals, in which more than 30 new fossil taxa were proposed.
