Daniel Pauly

French marine biologist, head of the project Sea Around Us at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries of the University of British Columbia

A scientist specializing in fishing, Pauly is the principal researcher of the “Sea Around Us” project at the Institute of Oceans and Fisheries at the University of British Columbia (Canada). His multi-year global analysis of marine ecosystems allowed him to come to surprising conclusions about the influence of fishing habits on the seas — and proved that fish stocks are rapidly declining worldwide.
