Journalist, writer and advocate for a sustainable food system. As founder and president of Slow Food, he had a decisive role in creating and developing the actions of this company, which started in Italy and has already reached global range. He is also the author of several gastronomy books and writes regularly for the newspaper “La Repubblica” about sustainable development, gastronomy and the connection between food and nature. In 2016, he was named special ambassador of the program Zero Hunger for Europe by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), a project that seeks to increase awareness for the need of improving agriculture in Europe and to ensure a sustainable food supply chain.
